Audiophile/High Quality Pressings
Audiophile vinyl pressings are produced with sound quality as the priority. What sets them apart is usually the care taken at every stage: the mastering may be done from the original analogue master tapes or the highest-quality source available, with minimal processing and close attention to preserving dynamics, detail and tonal balance.
The lacquer cutting and pressing stages are also typically handled to tighter standards, often by specialist engineers and pressing plants. Some editions use all-analogue mastering chains, half-speed mastering, one-step processes, heavier-grade vinyl or specially formulated compounds designed to reduce surface noise and improve consistency.
Collectors seek out audiophile pressings because they can reveal more of the recording itself — greater depth, separation, texture and low-level detail — and can offer a noticeably more refined listening experience on a good hi-fi system.
Our Audiophile Vinyl collection brings together pressings selected for these kinds of mastering and manufacturing qualities across a range of artists and genres.
