Alice in Chains' Layne Staley, Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and the Screaming Trees' Barrett Martin formed this side project, partly to help each other stay clean. 'River of Deceit', inspired by Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet, is slow and soulful.
