ANDREW HILL 'Smoke Stack' Blue Note Classic 180g Vinyl LP
Year of release: 1966
Blue Note shelved this unusual 1963 session for three years. It pairs Andrew Hill's piano with two bassists, Richard Davis and Eddie Khan, and Roy Haynes on drums. Hill's angular, puzzle-box compositions twist and tumble in unexpected directions, thrilling and quietly radical.
