BILLIE HOLIDAY 'Lady In Satin' 180g BLUE Vinyl LP

Year of release: 1958

Billie Holiday asked for arranger Ray Ellis and his lush string orchestra, and the contrast with her worn, cracked voice, a year before her death, is devastating. 'I'm a Fool to Want You' and 'You've Changed' are almost too painful to hear, and she reportedly called it her favourite of her albums.
