BILLIE HOLIDAY 'Solitude' 180g BLUE Vinyl LP

Year of release: 1956

Cut in 1952 for producer Norman Granz with Oscar Peterson on piano and Barney Kessel on guitar, this catches Lady Day relaxed in a small-group setting. Duke Ellington's title song and 'These Foolish Things' glow with her unhurried, late-night phrasing.
