BIG STAR '#1 Record' BLUE Vinyl LP (1972 Power Pop)

Year of release: 1972

Alex Chilton of the Box Tops and Chris Bell made this in Memphis for the tiny Ardent label, but poor distribution meant almost nobody could buy it. Now 'Thirteen', 'The Ballad of El Goodo' and 'In the Street' are cornerstones of power pop, adored by R.E.M., the Replacements and Teenage Fanclub.

Condition: New/Sealed/Mint
