AL GREEN 'Call Me' TIGER'S EYE Vinyl LP

Year of release: 1973

Al Green and producer Willie Mitchell cut this at Royal Studios in Memphis with the Hi Rhythm Section, and it's often called his finest hour. Beside the gorgeous title track he turns Hank Williams' 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry' and Willie Nelson's 'Funny How Time Slips Away' into deep southern soul.
