HAILU MERGIA & THE WALIAS 'Tche Belew' Vinyl LP (1977 African Jazz-Funk)
Year of release: 1977
The Walias Band were the house band at the Addis Ababa Hilton, and Hailu Mergia's swirling organ leads them through instrumental Ethio-jazz with a deep funk groove. It's slinky, hypnotic and quietly psychedelic.
