BRIAN ENO 'Discreet Music' Vinyl LP (1975 Minimal)

Year of release: 1975

Bedridden after being hit by a taxi, Eno listened to a record of harp music too quiet to hear properly, and realised music could blend into a room. The 30-minute title piece, made with two tape recorders and a synth loop, is the result, and side two reworks Pachelbel's Canon into slow, overlapping variations.
