Brian Eno

Musician, songwriter, producer, visual artist, sound designer and political activist, Brian Eno is one of popular music’s most influential and innovative figures. Renowned for his pioneering contributions to ambient and electronic music, he has collaborated with and produced a multitude of artists across a vast range of genres. After playing keyboards on Roxy Music’s first two albums and becoming known for his flamboyant costumes, Eno embarked on a solo odyssey in 1973, releasing four genre-fusing pop and rock albums while simultaneously exploring increasingly radical sonic experiments and conceptual studio techniques. His work soon expanded into minimalist and ambient music, incorporating electronically constructed compositions and chance-based approaches.

Over the decades, Eno has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists, including prog-rock guitarist Robert Fripp of King Crimson, Krautrock pioneers Harmonia and Cluster, and experimental musicians such as Harold Budd, Jon Hassell, Daniel Lanois and his brother Roger Eno. More recently, he has worked with electronic artists Jon Hopkins and Fred again.. and avant-pop artist Beatie Wolfe. As a producer, Eno has also helped define the sound of numerous artists, most famously David Bowie during his Berlin period, as well as Talking Heads, U2, Devo, John Cale and Coldplay, among many others.
