ART BLAKEY & THE JAZZ MESSENGERS 'Caravan' CRAFT 180g Vinyl LP

Year of release: 1963

Recorded for Riverside, this opens with a blistering, drum-heavy charge through Duke Ellington and Juan Tizol's 'Caravan'. Wayne Shorter's writing and Freddie Hubbard's fiery trumpet make it one of the early-60s band's finest hours.
