CHARLIE PARKER 'Jazz At Massey Hall' 180g YELLOW Vinyl LP

Year of release: 1953

Charlie Parker played a cheap plastic saxophone at this 1953 Toronto concert and was credited as 'Charlie Chan' for contract reasons, yet it's one of the greatest live jazz records ever made. With Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Charles Mingus and Max Roach, the 'Quintet of the Year' tear through 'Salt Peanuts' and 'A Night in Tunisia'.
