JOE MCPHEE 'Nation Time' Vinyl LP (1971 Free Jazz)

Nation Time was recorded at concerts at Vassar College in 1970, with Joe McPhee's searching tenor sax leading a funky free-jazz band. Inspired by Amiri Baraka's poem 'It's Nation Time', it mixes James Brown-style grooves with spiritual fire.
