DEATH 'Scream Bloody Gore' MERGE/SPLATTER Vinyl LP

Year of release: 1987

Often called the first true death metal album, this was made by Chuck Schuldiner with drummer Chris Reifert, who'd soon form Autopsy. Splatter-movie lyrics and buzzing, primitive riffs on 'Zombie Ritual' set the template for a whole genre.
