MARVIN GAYE 'What's Going On' 50th Anniversary 180g Vinyl 2LP

Year of release: 1971

Motown's Berry Gordy didn't want to release it, but Marvin Gaye's song cycle about war, poverty and pollution, sung from the view of a returning Vietnam veteran, became one of soul's greatest albums. The title track, 'Mercy Mercy Me' and 'Inner City Blues' flow into each other like a single prayer.
