ASTRUD GILBERTO 'Now' Vinyl LP (1972 Bossa Nova)

Year of release: 1972

Produced by Eumir Deodato, this finds the voice of 'The Girl from Ipanema' going funky, with riff-driven tropicália grooves on 'Zigy Zigy Za' and 'Gingele'. 'Take It Easy, My Brother Charlie', co-written by Jorge Ben, is the sunniest moment, her cool, breathy voice gliding over the groove.
