DESMOND DEKKER & THE ACES '007 Shanty Town' 180g PURPLE Vinyl LP (1967 Rocksteady)

Year of release: 1967

Desmond Dekker's first UK hit, '007 (Shanty Town)', told of rude boys and riots in Kingston, and it helped carry rocksteady to Britain. Backed by the Aces' sweet harmonies, these songs are lean, swinging and full of yard life.
