JACQUES THOLLOT 'Watch Devil Go' Vinyl LP (1975 Jazz - Leftfield/Electronic)

Year of release: 1975

French drummer Jacques Thollot, who played with Don Cherry, made this strange, beautiful mix of jazz, chamber writing and hallucinatory synth improvisation. Delicate, suspended passages give way to sudden brass blasts, and Madlib later sampled the title track.
