Manuel Göttsching recorded this hour-long improvisation in a single take at his Berlin studio in 1981, then released it three years later, naming it after a chess opening. Its gently pulsing sequencer and slowly unfolding guitar later echoed through house and techno, sampled on the club classic 'Sueño Latino'.
