Amorphous Androgynous
Amorphous Androgynous is a prominent alias of the British electronic music production duo Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans, who are best known as The Future Sound of London (FSOL). The pair initially adopted the moniker in 1993 for their acclaimed album Tales of Ephidrina, which blended techno with early ambient textures.
In the 2000s, the duo revived the name to shift away from traditional electronic dance music toward an experimental, genre-defying sound. This second era embraced "samplerdelic cosmic rock", fusing 1970s progressive rock, sitar-infused Eastern psychedelia, and live instrumentation on albums like The Isness and Alice in Ultraland. They have also curated the highly regarded “A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble” compilation and remix series.
